Black Mirror II Hints
How can I figure out which hole to put each piece in?
1 of 5: Look closely at the plinth (without Darren standing in the way) to find that its four holes are not on the corners of the chessboard, but are instead above it, below it, left of it, and right of it.
2 of 5: The note mentioned compass directions like north and south. Maybe the hole above the chessboard is the north hole, the one below it is the south hole, and so on.
3 of 5: The game won't let you put chess pieces in the wrong holes, so you don't actually have to figure this out. Just pick a piece and try it in each hole until it gets placed, then do the same with another piece.
4 of 5: The note tells you that the king goes in the north (top) hole and the pawn goes in the south (bottom) hole, so you might as well place those, then experiment to see where the knight and queen pieces go.
5 of 5: As it turns out, the queen goes in the west (left) hole, and the knight goes in the east (right) hole.
