Black Mirror II Hints
How can I figure out what the ropes' secret code is?
of 9: There aren't any clues in the basement, so go upstairs and look in other parts of the store. Remember that you're wanting to find info regarding the geographical areas that the five backdrops depict.
of 9: In the back room, there's a large world map pinned to the wall behind the desk. Check it to see if it has anything useful on it.
of 9: In the close-up view, check the note that's stuck to the map's right side. It lists Arizona, Hawaii, and Europe, with two smudges between Hawaii and Europe.
of 9: If you go to the basement and examine each backdrop after pulling it down, you should be able to match up backdrops with those three areas.
of 9: You can match Monument Valley with Arizona (even though Darren says it's in Utah when you examine the backdrop), the beach with Hawaii, and the castle with Europe (since Darren says the castle is somewhere in Europe when you examine its backdrop).
of 9: So the order to pull the ropes in is this: Monument Valley, beach, Great Wall of China or sphinx, Great Wall of China or sphinx, castle.
of 9: Experimentation will easily yield the answer, since there are only two possibilities, but you can narrow it down to one by examining the world map some more.
of 9: Look to the left of the note to find an interactive spot called "card." Click on it to get the entire five-stop world tour in order.
of 9: Notice that "North Africa or Egypt" is mentioned before China, so the correct rope sequence is: Monument Valley, beach, sphinx, Great Wall of China, castle.
