Black Mirror II Hints

How can I get the transparencies set right?

  • 1 of 5: The first thing to do is go to the Gfx section of the Options menu and set the gamma slider all the way to the left. If you don't, the light box will be blinding, and you won't be able to see a thing on the transparencies.
  • 2 of 5: Once you can clearly see the markings on the transparencies, you'll need to figure out how to rotate them so that overlaying them will form four numbers. (As with the torn-up letter puzzle, left-click on a transparency to pick it up, then right-click to rotate it.)
  • 3 of 5: When you're overlaying them (dropping one right on top of another), it doesn't matter what order you do it in. Just put them all in a stack and see if you can tell what rotations will improve their number display.
  • 4 of 5: The transparencies start out in a random configuration, but their markings aren't random, so check the graphic below if you want to see how each one needs to be rotated. Note that all the markings are highlighted in red to make them stand out more.
  • 5 of 5: Once they're all rotated correctly, pile them on top of each other to reveal the secret door's combo. Once it's done right, you'll exit the light box close-up view.
