How do I do this lockpicking puzzle?

  • 1 of 8: To start with, click the gear cursor on the tumblers to get Darren to insert the lockpick into the lock.
  • 2 of 8: Quickly take note of how far the current shape of the lockpick pushes each tumbler down before Darren pulls it back out. (Or take a quick screen capture with the Print Scrn key and paste it in Windows Paint so you can look at it longer.)
  • 3 of 8: When the lockpick is outside of the lock, you can click on it at any point and drag it up or down in order to bend it. This is necessary to do in order to fit the lockpick to the lock.
  • 4 of 8: What you want is for the bottoms of the shiny top parts of the lock's tumblers to all line up with the red lines.
  • 5 of 8: Concentrate on one tumbler at a time, starting with the left one. Insert the lockpick to see which spot on it ends up directly above the left tumbler after it stops moving, then wait for it to be pulled out. Click on that spot and drag it down a ways, since (as you saw) the left tumbler was way too high.
  • 6 of 8: Try the lockpick again and check the left tumbler to see if the bottom of its shiny top part is exactly even with the red line. If not, bend the pick accordingly and keep trying until you get it.
  • 7 of 8: After that one's set, repeat the process with the other three tumblers.
  • 8 of 8: This is really an easy puzzle to do, though it can be a bit time-consuming. Just keep at it until you get it, or use the auto-completion lever that comes up if you're playing on easy mode and don't feel like finishing it yourself.
