Black Mirror II Hints
What am I supposed to do on the piano?
of 10: Play the notes that are shown on the tracing you made.
of 10: Thankfully, this puzzle doesn't require any real musical knowledge, even though it appears to at first. Study the tracing, which is shown near the top of the screen.
of 10: There are two horizontal lines on the tracing, plus dots that are on five different levels: below the bottom line, on the bottom line, between the two lines, on the upper line, and above the upper line.
of 10: Moving the cursor along the row of piano keys, you'll see that only eight of them are interactive.
of 10: Mentally number the interactive keys 1 to 8 in left-to-right order, then mentally number the levels of the dots on the tracing from 1 to 5 in bottom-to-top order.
of 10: Now you can match up tracing notes with keys on the keyboard.
of 10: To start with, the first (leftmost) dot on the tracing is below the bottom line. That makes it a 1, so play it by hitting the 1 key on the piano (which is the leftmost interactive key).
of 10: The next dot on the tracing is between the two lines, so it's a 3. Play it by hitting the third-from-left interactive key on the piano.
of 10: Numbering the rest of the dots, you'll get 3, 2, 5, 3, 2, 3. Play them in the same way.
of 10: When you play all eight notes correctly in a row, you'll exit the piano close-up view and Darren will make a comment.
