Black Mirror III Hints

How do the room lights work?

  • 1 of 12: Did you notice that the light in the entry room was on when you first entered?
  • 2 of 12: What made it go out?
  • 3 of 12: It went out when Valentina closed the door that connected to a room with a shadow creature in it.
  • 4 of 12: This indicates that the lights are triggered to go on and off when you open and close doors.
  • 5 of 12: Try opening and closing the entry room's other two doors to see how they affect the light.
  • 6 of 12: You'll soon discover that the light is on when two of the room's three doors are open, and it's off when any other number of doors are open.
  • 7 of 12: Did you get the labyrinth map yet?
  • 8 of 12: Right-click on it for a close-up, then notice that it has a "II" marked in the entry room.
  • 9 of 12: That's the Roman numeral for 2, so maybe the map's numbers tell how many doors in each room have to be open to get its light on.
  • 10 of 12: Go down to the large room that's south of the entry room and experiment with its doors.
  • 11 of 12: You'll find that its light is on when exactly one of its doors is open. That matches up with the map having a "I" written in that room.
  • 12 of 12: So you can use the map (or my Labyrinth Map) to see how to turn each room's lights on without having to go to that room and experiment. That's good, since experimenting can get you killed by shadow creatures.
