Black Mirror III Hints
How can I deal with the shadows?
1 of 7: The first thing to note is that shadows, like your two characters, can only move from one room to another through open doors.
2 of 7: Also, as you may have noticed when you first entered the labyrinth, they're reluctant to enter a room where the light is on.
3 of 7: However, they have no problem entering a room if its light is off and one of your characters is in it. When that happens, you die -- though you can (as usual) restore the automatic save game to undo the move that killed you.
4 of 7: If opening the door to a shadow's room turns your room's light on, the shadow won't come after you unless the light in its room also comes on *and* it has no way to flee to a dark room. (Remember that each door opening and closing affects two rooms' light counts.)
5 of 7: To move a shadow out of its room safely, you'll need to set things up so that opening a door into its room will turn on the light in both its room and yours *plus* there's another open door in its room that leads to a dark room.
6 of 7: That can be quite a bit of trouble to arrange, so use the map with all the "doors open" numbers on it to plan how to move the shadows when you want to explore their rooms.
7 of 7: NOTE: If you open a door that leads to a dark room with an open door that leads to a shadow's room, it won't come after you unless you go through the door. In other words, it'll only come after you if you're in an adjacent room.
