Black Mirror III Hints
General Tips
1 of 6: Unlike Black Mirror II, you won't be asked whether you want to play in easy or normal mode when you start a new game. The "additional game help" option in the Options menu's Game section will start out checked, which puts you in easy mode. It lets you skip certain puzzles after messing around with them long enough, and it gives additional game help and tips in the diary. Normal mode doesn't allow the skipping of any puzzles, and no additional game help is given. You can uncheck "additional game help" on the Options menu at any time to switch to normal mode.
2 of 6: You can use various keys (including H, E, and the SPACEBAR) to briefly highlight all of an area's hotspots. H will show you all the non-exit hotspots, E will show you all the exit hotspots, and the SPACEBAR will show you all of both kinds of hotspots.
3 of 6: After using H or the SPACEBAR, left-click a few times on each hotspot marked by a magnifying glass to see if you get something from it or if it'll disappear. Any hotspot that sticks around without doing anything for you will likely be important later on. (Note that right-clicking on a hotspot never does anything in this game.)
4 of 6: You may not be able to see all of an area's hotspots by standing in one place. Walk all around to see if you can scroll the view. If so, check for new hotspots.
5 of 6: Go to the Gfx section of the Options menu and set the gamma slider all the way to the right. That will make all of the game areas easier to see in, and it won't blind you or wash out all the colors like some games' full-gamma settings do. (Though the pages of your diary, and other white papers that you view up close, will be rather bright.)
6 of 6: When talking to someone, you can left- or right-click to quickly skip past the spoken dialogue. This is useful if you're replaying part of the game, or if you have the "display speech bubbles" option selected in the Options menu's Game section and can read the dialogue faster than it's spoken. (You can also press TAB to instantly skip past the non-interactive parts of most conversations.)
