1 of 10: Since the portal closed, you'll need to find yourself another black ball to reopen it with.
2 of 10: Examine the "buried staircase" hotspot at the bottom middle of the screen a couple of times.
3 of 10: That'll replace it with a "rocks" hotspot and two "gap" hotspots.
4 of 10: Check the two gap areas to find that they're too dark to see anything in, and Darren can't reach anything in them.
5 of 10: There is something you need in there, though. Think about a way to light up a gap so you can see into it.
6 of 10: A brief flash of light might be enough.
7 of 10: Especially if what the flash of light revealed was preserved in a photo.
8 of 10: Use the polaroid camera on either of the gaps to get a picture of the area that they both connect to.
9 of 10: The photo will show a black ball. Just what you needed!
