Why did she do that?!
1 of 2: As Lia said, sort of, she was trying to avoid George's fate. She was hoping that if she died with a Bestower right there, she would be able to go into the light before she was destroyed. Guess not.
2 of 2: Yes, I know this is horrible, and also pretty massively confusing. Hang in there for explanations as we go along.
