Blair Witch Volume 1: Rustin Parr Hints

How can I get a map of the forest?

  • 1 of 19: Well, everyone seems to think that the sheriff might have one.  Why don't you try asking him?
  • 2 of 19: Go inside Town Hall and head toward the sheriff's door.  He'll come out and talk to you as soon as you get close enough.
  • 3 of 19: It doesn't sound like he wants to talk to you.  I'd give up on the sheriff.
  • 4 of 19: But the deputy would be a lot more willing to help you if the sheriff weren't around.
  • 5 of 19: You might as well wander around town and wait for a better opportunity.
  • 6 of 19: Start by heading to the diner -- seems the sheriff is busy eating.
  • 7 of 19: So head back to Town Hall and try talking to the deputy now.  If you're on the normal puzzle difficulty setting, the puzzle will end here, and you'll have the map.  But if you're on the hard difficulty, you're going to have to look for a bigger distraction.
  • 8 of 19: Keep talking to people around town, and one of them will give you a hint.
  • 9 of 19: Go to the Burkittsville Register and talk to the editor there.
  • 10 of 19: He'll give you a report about some vandalism at the school.
  • 11 of 19: The deputy had to go out to draw a picture of the school earlier -- maybe he'd have to go out if something else happened.
  • 12 of 19: Like a similar act of vandalism.
  • 13 of 19: Start by walking to the schoolhouse and using the report outside.  Doc will then get the idea of vandalizing the school herself.  You may have already thought of vandalizing the school, but I found the game wouldn't let me do anything I used the report first.
  • 14 of 19: Now, you need to look for something to use to deface the school.
  • 15 of 19: Something that can't be traced back to you.
  • 16 of 19: While you can buy a can of paint from the general store, the sheriff will use the paint to trace you to the crime.
  • 17 of 19: Look carefully inside the schoolhouse.
  • 18 of 19: There is a piece of chalk on the blackboard.
  • 19 of 19: The schoolmarm will be asleep when you're ready to take the chalk.  If she's still awake, you probably forgot to use the report, or you may still have other people to talk to.
