How can I get rid of one of the bars?
1 of 13: There are three bars. Examine them all.
2 of 13: The middle bar registers as loose, but it's still too firmly embedded to be pulled out by hand.
3 of 13: You need to smash one of the bricks that it's stuck in before you can pull it out.
4 of 13: Do you have anything in your inventory that could break bricks?
5 of 13: What about a hammer?
6 of 13: Thankfully, there's one nearby, though it's very hard to find by just waving the mouse cursor around the screen.
7 of 13: It's lying near one corner on the roof of the little structure that's just to the right of the boiler room door. Wave the cursor slowly over the roof corner that's nearest the dustbin from which you got the syringe.
8 of 13: Once you have the hammer, get back to your little window close-up and use it on the brick beneath the middle bar.
9 of 13: If the boiler man hears you, you'll have to hammer more quietly (or at a more convenient time).
10 of 13: There's an old Three Stooges show in which they sawed frantically on the bars of their cell window every time the guard outside their door slurped soup loudly.
11 of 13: Well, you need to hammer on the brick every time the guy in the boiler room shovels coal into the boiler loudly.
12 of 13: Wait until you hear him walk across the room and open the creaky boiler door. Between that time and the time you hear the boiler door creak closed, you can hammer.
13 of 13: Quickly hit the brick three times to eliminate it, then click on the bar to get it out of your way.
