How can I help Yukie kill her fish-demon nemesis?

  • 1 of 12: This is one of the funnier quests in the game.
  • 2 of 12: Talk to Yukie in the Ramen Shop to learn about the Hengeyokai that she is trying to kill. Be amused by her awful Japanese if you speak it, and by the general poking fun at Japanese culture.
  • 3 of 12: She will suggest that other demons might know about the Hengeyokai. So go talk to Ming Xiao at the temple.
  • 4 of 12: Ming will tell you that the demon's name is Zygaena, and that he entertains customers at the Red Dragon.
  • 5 of 12: Go to the Red Dragon, and find a guy sitting at the tables in the corner of the bar area.
  • 6 of 12: Talk to him, and convince him to set up a meeting with Zygaena. If you have Persuade you can convince him that you just want to talk, but I don't know if there's any benefit to doing so.
  • 7 of 12: Once you've set up the meeting, head back to Yukie and tell her where the demon is. Offer to help her kill it.
  • 8 of 12: Go to the fish market at the other end of town. Talk to Yukie outside and enter.
  • 9 of 12: You will run into the guy you talked to at the Red Dragon (ohhh, big surprise). He will transform into the Hengeyokai, and attack.
  • 10 of 12: Yukie is pretty useless, but at least she will distract the demon. After a while of getting beaten on, Yukie will retreat and start using her crossbow, and the Hengeyokai will come after you. Be careful -- he hits pretty hard.
  • 11 of 12: If you have Celerity, as usual, this battle is easier. If not, you can make the fight fairly simple by luring the Hengeyokai over to one of the six tanks on the side, and breaking it while he's standing next to it. He will be frozen, allowing you to beat on him for a while. Repeat the process until he falls.
  • 12 of 12: Talk to Yukie to end the quest. There is a money clip in the back of the fish market. Also, if you are a jerk, you can attack Yukie. If you kill her with a ranged weapon, she will drop her crossbow, which is pretty good.
