The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon Hints

Hircine's Hunt

  • 1 of 7: The next time you become a wolf, you'll be called to join Hircine's hunt, and you will automatically travel to the entry area of the Mortrag Glacier.
  • 2 of 7: After Hircine talks to you and vanishes, you'll be left alone in the entry area. That means you have a choice as to how to proceed.
  • 3 of 7: If you want to make your way through the werewolf-infested maze to the Huntsman's Hall as a werewolf, then get going since you're already in wolf form.
  • 4 of 7: However, if you'd rather play through in your non-wolf form (so you can use artifact gear, potions, spells, your neat new "Hunter's Wind" power, etc.), just wait in the entry area until you transform back, and then proceed.
  • 5 of 7: If you play as a non-wolf, the quest will go exactly the same as if you'd gotten to this point by curing yourself of the werewolf disease and doing the Skaal quests.
  • 6 of 7: If you go as a wolf, there will be a few differences. First off, Captain Carius and Heart-Fang will attack you on sight instead of volunteering to fight at your side. Also, you can pass through the teleportation forcefields without the keys (which is good, since you can't pick up keys or anything else in wolf form). That's mainly it, but there's also the fact that werewolves are very fast and agile, and you can probably run and jump through the two maze areas without doing much combat.
  • 7 of 7: In any case, see the following link to the Skaal version of this quest for further details.
