The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon Hints

A Blocked Door

  • 1 of 12: A few days after you complete the first EEC quest, you'll get a journal entry saying to check in with Carnius Magius for another assignment.
  • 2 of 12: Carnius says Falco is having some sort of problem at the mine site.
  • 3 of 12: So sail on over there (or just run over on foot) and talk to Falco (who's in the exact same spot as before).
  • 4 of 12: He'll say that Hroldar the Strange is spooking the miners with talk of a curse, and needs to be gotten rid of.
  • 5 of 12: You'll find Hroldar just a few steps to the NW of Falco, blocking the door to the mine.
  • 6 of 12: You can't talk to the guy, but try anyway in order to get a journal entry.
  • 7 of 12: Then talk to Falco again about getting rid of Hroldar, and he'll say to beat him up a little in hand-to-hand combat. You're strictly forbidden to kill Hroldar.
  • 8 of 12: If your Hand-to-hand skill is severely lacking, then either sail back to Vvardenfell and go find a trainer (the master trainer is in the Holamayan Monastery) or go ahead and kill Hroldar anyway.
  • 9 of 12: TIP: Casting spells on Hroldar that drain his fatigue will help a lot with the hand-to-hand strategy.
  • 10 of 12: If you punch Hroldar until he gives up and walks off, Falco will be happy and give you a $1,000 reward. However, Carnius will be gripey when you report back to him, and won't give you anything.
  • 11 of 12: Killing Hroldar will make Falco mad, but Carnius will be happy and give you your $1,000. So either way works out pretty much equally.
  • 12 of 12: NOTE: While you're waiting for the next EEC quest to become available, you could enter the mine and raid it for over 100 chunks of raw ebony. You'll have to make several trips in and out to steal and sell it all, but it's worth the trouble!
