The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon Hints

To Catch a Thief

  • 1 of 13: Falco suspects a miner named Uryn Maren of stealing ebony from the mine for Carnius. He'll give you a key to Maren's house and ask you to search it for stolen ebony.
  • 2 of 13: Maren's house is right nearby, so enter it and look around.
  • 3 of 13: Locate the hard-to-see wooden door near the entrance and open it to find the bedroom.
  • 4 of 13: Open the locked chest in the bedroom (the key will work on it, too) to find that it's empty.
  • 5 of 13: Report back to Falco to get the next part of this assignment.
  • 6 of 13: Since there was no proof in Maren's house, Falco wants you to find him in the mine and follow him if he starts sneaking around.
  • 7 of 13: You'll find Maren in the small east tunnel in the main mine that's right near the entrance.
  • 8 of 13: Don't approach Maren or talk to him. Just walk into his cave area so he'll get started.
  • 9 of 13: Follow him at a distance to see where he's going. He'll stop at one point while the guard on the storage room sneaks off for a drink.
  • 10 of 13: When the coast is clear, he'll sneak into the storage room. Follow him in order to get a journal entry about catching him in the act.
  • 11 of 13: Talk to him now to get him to confess that Carnius threatened him into stealing ebony for him.
  • 12 of 13: When you report all of this back to Falco, he says to confront Carnius with what you've found and see what he has to say for himself.
  • 13 of 13: Naturally, Carnius denies everything, calling Maren a liar. However, when you report back to Falco to get your $500 and finish the quest, you'll learn that Maren has been "mysteriously" killed. Yeah, right!
