The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon Hints
Betrayal at Brodir Grove
of 11: Talk to Ulfgar the Unending in his dwelling (location 33 on the Solstheim Map) to get this quest.
of 11: After you hear his story and learn of his quest, you need to try to find out more about this Sovngarde place that he and his friends were trying to get to.
of 11: This all sounded very Nordy and mead-ish to me when I played, so what I did was go to Thirsk and talk to all the people in the mead hall.
of 11: In one of the upstairs chambers, a guy named Bereditte Jastal sells a book that he wrote called "Sovngarde, a Reexamination."
of 11: Buy it and read it to learn that this is just the sort of thing that Ulfgar needs to know.
of 11: Go show him the book. He'll believe what it says, and will challenge you to an honorable duel, hoping that you'll be able to kill him and send him to Sovngarde that way.
of 11: Accept the duel, then take the chance he gives you to prepare for it. He is one majorly tough barbarian, you know.
of 11: When you're ready, talk to him again to get things started.
of 11: When you kill him, he may or may not gasp out a last message to meet him by the three named stones just SE of his house.
of 11: Whether he said it or not, I did, so head out to the stones area (location 32 on the map) to meet his ghost.
of 11: After the ghost speaks and disappears, you can use each of the four stones (there's now one for Ulfgar) to gain temporary Fortify Attribute blessings. (And you can regain them at any time later on by using the stones again.)
