The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon Hints

What are some other ways to become a werewolf?

  • 1 of 6: Such encounters are random and very rare, but while wandering the island's outdoor region you might meet up with a werewolf (if it's night) or a human lunatic (if it's day). Either one of those creature types could infect you with Sanies Lupinus (the werewolf disease) as they attack you.
  • 2 of 6: NOTE: If you have any resistance to common disease, it'll be harder to get infected. If you're 100% resistant, it's impossible except on a main quest in which it's scripted that you contract Sanies Lupinus no matter what.
  • 3 of 6: The only place you can go to reliably find a lunatic/werewolf is Connorflenge Barrow (location 10 on the Solstheim Map). There should be a Confused Lunatic in there if it's daytime, and a werewolf if it's nighttime. If there's not, try exiting and reentering the barrow. (Also note that if you kill the lunatic/werewolf and dispose of the corpse, you can exit and reenter to get a new one.)
  • 4 of 6: TIP: The werewolf can hurt you a *lot* faster than the lunatic, so it's best to go to Connorflenge during the day and let the lunatic beat up on you until you get infected.
  • 5 of 6: You can also become a werewolf for several hours without any long-lasting effects by equipping Hircine's Ring, which you can get during the course of the final main quest.
  • 6 of 6: Or, as a last resort, you can use the console to help you get the werewolf disease. Press ~ and type:

    player->addspell "werewolf blood"

    That'll put the ol' Sanies Lupinus in your effects list. Just rest for a few days in order to transform.
