Broken Sword: Shadow Of The Templars (Director's Cut) Hints

Wii Version

  • 1 of 16: Prepare your wrists. This is gonna hurt.
  • 2 of 16: You need to grab and rotate the two wheels, and add the two numbers together to make totals.
  • 3 of 16: For example, if the red XX is aligned next to the yellow VII, the total number would be XXVII, which is twenty-seven.
  • 4 of 16: However, an added difficulty with the Wii version is that you need to rotate specifically left or right to get to the next value. If you go the wrong way, you need to reset the puzzle.
  • 5 of 16: And as if that wasn't lame enough, you also need to keep a running total, adding the next value to the previous one.
  • 6 of 16: The values you need to enter can be found in your diary -- they're the ones you found from the tomb in Paris.
  • 7 of 16: For example, the first value is 14 Right. So, turn the wheel right until you see the X align with the IV. You should hear a loud rumbling noise.
  • 8 of 16: At this point, you can pull the first switch.
  • 9 of 16: Now, work on the second, which is 27 Right.
  • 10 of 16: Remember, you won't be turning to 27. You'll be turning to the sum of 27 plus the previous values, so 27 + 14, which equals 41.
  • 11 of 16: So, turn to the right until you get the XL to align with the I. You can then flip the second switch.
  • 12 of 16: The third value is 6 Left, so 41 + 6 = 47. Turn to the LEFT until you align XL with VII. Now flip the third switch.
  • 13 of 16: The fourth value is 81 Left, so 81 + 47 = 128. Turn to the left until you align XX with VIII (remember that every part of the wheel has a C on top anyway, so you can ignore the hundreds column). Now, flip the fourth switch.
  • 14 of 16: The fifth value is 3 Right, so 128 + 3 = 131. Turn to the right until you align XXX with I. Now, flip the fifth switch.
  • 15 of 16: And finally, the sixth value is 1 Left, so 131 + 1 = 132. Turn to the left until you align XXX with II.
  • 16 of 16: You can now flip the sixth switch, and end this damnable puzzle. Now, go fetch a bucket of ice for your poor over-rotatin' hand!
