Broken Sword: Shadow Of The Templars (Director's Cut) Hints

How can I get the key up to the socket on the wall?

  • 1 of 14: You can't.
  • 2 of 14: It's far too heavy, and I somehow doubt any of the locals are going to be willing to climb that haystack in order to help you.
  • 3 of 14: You're going to need to find a way to substitute the key for something else.
  • 4 of 14: The important part is the set of notches on the back. Find a way to replicate that pattern.
  • 5 of 14: We're going to need to replicate the shape of that heavy stone key.
  • 6 of 14: Did you notice that when you tried to pick the key up, it fell over into the sand?
  • 7 of 14: If you lift it back up, you'll notice that it has left some indentations in the sand, in the shape of the notches on the back of the key.
  • 8 of 14: If you could pour something into those notches, then harden it and remove it, it would work in the same way as the key, but at a fraction of the weight.
  • 9 of 14: Look around this room and see whether you can find something that is designed for that very job.
  • 10 of 14: Did you notice the table at the right hand side of the room?
  • 11 of 14: There's a bag of plaster on it. Grab some.
  • 12 of 14: You can then sprinkle the plaster into the hole.
  • 13 of 14: However, we're still gonna need to find some water to pour onto the plaster so that it will set.
  • 14 of 14: Once you've filled the hole with plaster and water, you can remove the cast.
