Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon Hints

Movement: How do I get around?

  • The characters are moved around the screen with the arrow keys.  Movement is relative to the screen, rather than the character.  In other words, if you'd like to move the character towards the top of the screen, you'll need to press the "Up" arrow key, regardless of the direction the character is currently facing.

The angle of view changes quite often, which can make it a bit trickier to move the character around the screen.  You might start out by moving the character to the top of the screen, then the perspective changes and suddenly you'll need to move towards the bottom of the screen.  The game helps out by providing "sticky keys", which means that as long as you haven't lifted your fingers off the movement keys, the character will continue moving in the same direction (relative to the scene) as before the camera angle change.

There are times when special types of movement will be necessary.  For example, hold down the left Shift key to "Run".  And use the Left Control key to "Creep".

At other times, it will be necessary to climb onto walls, cliffs, or other scalable objects.  At these times, use the "W", "A", "S", "D" keys to initiate the movement suggested in the action buttons at the lower right corner of the screen.
