Where can I find something to burn?
1 of 4: Look around the area where you left the cave. Do not climb back down into the room with the machine, but instead look around inside the cave itself.
2 of 4: You should find a bird's nest high on up one wall -- very close to the place where you climbed up on the black crate. That will burn nicely, if you could only reach it.
3 of 4: If you could somehow extend your reach, you could retrieve the nest.
4 of 4: Use the rod that you used in the wall to hold the door open.
