Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon Hints

How can George defeat the dragon without getting killed?

  • 1 of 10: This is one of the trickiest -- and perhaps most difficult, in terms of timing -- challenges in the game (and, thankfully, the last!).  You must get George to cover quickly.
  • 2 of 10: The best (and closest) cover is the large pile of rocks (a broken wall?) on the right of the path.  Run there immediately after regaining control of George.
  • 3 of 10: George is going to have to get close enough to attack the dragon.  But he can't do it all at once.
  • 4 of 10: Look for another source of cover.
  • 5 of 10: In order to get to the next pile of rocks (broken wall?) on the left of the path, George will have to zig-zag his way closer, in between fireballs.
  • 6 of 10: Notice that once a fireball has been discharged, it will continue in a straight line.  And the fireballs are discharged at George's current position.
  • 7 of 10: See if you can get George to draw the dragon's fire, and then run as fast as possible to the next location.
  • 8 of 10: Head George towards the cover on the left side of the path.  As soon as the dragon releases a fireball, cut to the right.  If the dragon sends out another fireball, immediately head left again.  It may take several attempts to get the hang of the timing.
  • 9 of 10: When you've gotten George to the nearest cover, be ready to run directly at the dragon, and use the sword.  Watch the action buttons for visual clues.  (Sometimes the dragon will breathe more fireballs, so be ready to run to the side in case he does.)
  • 10 of 10: Kill the dragon with Excalibur, and watch the fantastic ending.
