Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon Hints
George is in a room with four huge machines -- what do I do?
of 17: There seems to be some kind of small control panel that George can interact with. Play with the controls, to learn the limits of what George can do.
of 17: It appears that there is some sort of energy flow traveling between two of the machines opposite each other.
of 17: Two of the controls on the panel ("A" and "W") can turn a mechanism at the very center of the whole thing, and that seems to divert the flow of energy.
of 17: Using the action key "S", can make one of the large machines move into the center. Try it, and see if you can understand what caused that particular machine to move (besides pressing the button).
of 17: Pay attention, in particular, to the direction of the flow of energy. The machine that moves into the center is the one pulled there by the energy flow.
of 17: It only stands to reason that we should be able to move the machines around by changing the flow of energy.
of 17: Have you walked around the four machines and looked at each one? Pay attention to the descriptions of the machines -- they are slightly different.
of 17: For one of the machines, George said that it wasn't going anywhere (that was the one closest to the doorway where George entered the room).
of 17: Perhaps this machine is already correctly set up, but the others aren't.
of 17: Notice how the protrusions and hollows seem to line up from one machine to the next?
of 17: You'll need to move all the machines together (to make one ultra-powerful machine).
of 17: Since the one near the doors isn't going to move, you'll have to figure out how you can move the other machines, until they are all lined up, one behind the other.
of 17: The one at the doorway has four hollows. The one to move behind it should have four protrusions.
of 17: If the one at the doorway is said to be stationed at 12:00 (relative to the face of a clock), then the one you need to move next is the one positioned at 3:00.
of 17: Make sure the energy flow is moving from the machine at 3:00, toward the center, then use the action key "S". The machine will flow to the center.
of 17: Next, you'll have to turn it (press A) so that the protrusions are facing the machine by the doors. Of course the machine can only move into position if the energy flow is moving in the correct direction. When the protrusions are facing the correct direction and the energy flow is flowing in the correct direction, press the action key "S".
of 17: The next machine to move is stationed at the 9:00 position, then move the one at 6:00. Make sure the machines are facing the correct directions before moving them into place.
