Secrets of the Ark: A Broken Sword Game Hints
How can I get this door open?
1 of 9: Notice that there are four levers on the wall just to the left of the door.
2 of 9: Each lever lowers one or more of the large bars in front of the door, plus it may raise some of the other bars if they're already lowered.
3 of 9: To figure out this puzzle, you'll have to experiment to see which bars are affected by each lever. (Or check out my list below.)
4 of 9: Once you understand how the levers affect the bars, you'll need to come up with a way to use the "overlap" (the fact that each bar is affected by more than one lever) to figure out how to use the levers to get all the bars lowered at once.
5 of 9: If you think about the fact that lever 3 affects every bar but #3, and all the other levers affect bar #3, you should be able to see that lever 3 isn't a good one to use. (There are possible solutions that use it, but they'll also work without it.)
6 of 9: Try taking the bars down using levers 1, 2, and 4.
7 of 9: One way to do this is to use lever 1 to get bar #1 and #3 down, lever 4 to get bar #3 back up and bar #4 down, and then lever 2 to lower bar #2 and bar #3.
8 of 9: Actually, as long as lever 3 stays in the up position, you can pull levers 1, 2, and 4 in any order to remove all the bars.
9 of 9: That'll open the door and get Anna Maria to rejoin you.
