Secrets of the Ark: A Broken Sword Game Hints

Once I'm there, how can I get Anna Maria to follow?

  • 1 of 17: Once again, she isn't going to get there the way you did, so you'll have to make her a "bridge" of some sort to cross the gap.
  • 2 of 17: Even if you explore ahead on the next floor down, you won't find any large, moveable boards or anything like that.
  • 3 of 17: Remember that this building is very old and rickety. That's why it's in such bad shape.
  • 4 of 17: What if the door itself could be used to bridge the gap? It looks tall enough to do so.
  • 5 of 17: But how are you going to get the door off its hinges and across the gap?
  • 6 of 17: There's no easy way to take it off, so you'll have to apply some force to it to knock it off.
  • 7 of 17: That won't be easy while it's hanging open, so close it.
  • 8 of 17: When you try, you'll find that the door is tied open by a string.
  • 9 of 17: So click on the string to take it, and then on the door again.
  • 10 of 17: That'll get it closed, but if you were to ram or kick it now, it'd just burst open again.
  • 11 of 17: But what if it were bolted shut? Maybe then some force applied to the door would knock it loose.
  • 12 of 17: Look along the left side of the door after it's closed.
  • 13 of 17: There's a sliding bolt just above George's head level.
  • 14 of 17: Use it to lock the door shut, then click on the door again.
  • 15 of 17: George doesn't think to use force on the door when you click the "Open Door" action icon on it, so right-click on the door and see what all other available actions there are.
  • 16 of 17: Choose the little gear icon from the door's icon menu, since it's the only one there besides the "Examine" and "Open Door" icons, which you know won't work.
  • 17 of 17: When you choose the gear icon, George will kick the door hard enough to knock it over and make a bridge for Anna Maria.
