Secrets of the Ark: A Broken Sword Game Hints

How can I get a key card to use with the security doors?

  • 1 of 14: Maybe you can book a room and get your own key card.
  • 2 of 14: Talk to the guy behind the hotel desk and ask about booking a room.
  • 3 of 14: Unfortunately, he'll insist that there aren't any rooms available no matter how many times you ask him about it.
  • 4 of 14: So your only hope will be getting a key card from someone else in the lobby.
  • 5 of 14: There's only one other person around -- the guy who's reading a book in the side lounge.
  • 6 of 14: Right-click on his book and examine it to learn that he's using a key card for a bookmark.
  • 7 of 14: You can click the "Pick Up" action cursor on the guy's book, but he naturally won't let you take his key card. You're going to have to trick him and sneakily steal it somehow.
  • 8 of 14: Start by talking to him about various things.
  • 9 of 14: Ask him about himself to learn that he's only staying in that hotel until an art dealer calls him about some goose paintings he wants.
  • 10 of 14: Maybe you could decoy him away from his book by faking a phone call from the art dealer!
  • 11 of 14: However, in order to accomplish that, you'll need several bits of information.
  • 12 of 14: Once you know all that, try calling the hotel and asking for Thelwell Minster.
  • 13 of 14: Of course, you don't want to be too close to Minster or the desk clerk when you make the call, or it won't work.
  • 14 of 14: After Minster is decoyed to the hotel phone, leave the bathroom and click on his book to get his key card.
