General Tips
1 of 4: In areas with other people, it's important to talk to them frequently about every conversation topic they have.
2 of 4: Also, examine every interactive item you can find, then talk to people again to see if they have anything to say about it.
3 of 4: You should always right-click on interactive items (including people) to see what all different action icons you can use on them. If you just point the cursor at them, you'll get the "default" action icon, which may not be the one you want. In fact, there are some situations where the default action icon won't get the job done.
4 of 4: At various points in the game, you'll be required to hack into a restricted computer system, and doing so requires you to do a hacking puzzle. You get an in-game tutorial on how to do it when you first have to, and there's some basic information in the game manual. I also have some general tips for it that I found to be helpful.
