Callahan's Crosstime Saloon Hints
Hard Puzzle
1 of 5: Start with the gold pieces. There's only one way to place them.
2 of 5: Once you've done that, you can then work up from the lower-right corner -- with the gold pieces in place, that corner can be solved without guessing.
3 of 5: In the process, you should fill in some rows on the bottom and columns on the left.
4 of 5: Then, you'll notice a number of rows of 6 or 7 pieces. Although you can't place these rows completely, you can at least fill in a few of these pieces using the strategy shown in the on-line guide.
5 of 5: In other words, count from the left edge of the puzzle to see how far to the left these long strings can go, and then count from the right edge. There will be an overlap of a few spaces between these two extremes -- place stones here.
