The Cameron Files: Pharaoh's Curse Hints
Try things repeatedly
Not everything "works" the first time. There are a number of actions, puzzles, etc. that are only accessible after some other event has happened. If you have tried something that you think should work (but didn't), try it again after you have encountered some other circumstance, visited some other place, met some other person, or obtained some other object. Any of these could be the "trigger" that is necessary to activate the new object, puzzle, action, etc.
Within a given setting (e.g., the hotel, the museum, the Wonder of the Nile, the Valley of the Kings, etc.), the game is fairly non-linear, and you can explore in virtually any direction, and in any order. However, the overall flow of the game as a whole is quite linear. In that regard, you must do things in a certain order, for other actions to become available. As a result, if you reach a point where you are "stuck," and cannot seem to go any further, it is likely that you have not experienced the "trigger" that will allow you to move on. Since most of these "triggers" are either talking with someone, or locating a key object, the best thing to do at this point is to continue exploring, talk to everyone that you can, and pick up everything that you can possibly find.
Sometimes, these actions may seem totally unrelated to what you are working on, but which -- due to the design of the game -- must be accomplished in a fixed order before you can progress. The best suggestion is to try to do everything possible in every location you are in, and not just limit yourself to attempting to solve one puzzle at a time.
