What do I have to do before I can leave the hotel area for the first time?

  • 1 of 23: There are certain tasks that must be completed within the hotel before Cameron will be able to leave.
  • 2 of 23: Make sure Cameron looks around carefully in Room 17 first.
  • 3 of 23: There are three items you'll need from inside Room 17 before the game can progress.
  • 4 of 23: Look at the nightstand near the door.
  • 5 of 23: Take the key there.
  • 6 of 23: Take one step into the room and turn around.
  • 7 of 23: If Cameron looks at the bed, he'll drop his suitcase there.
  • 8 of 23: It will then be possible to search through Cameron's suitcase.
  • 9 of 23: Look under the clothes.
  • 10 of 23: Take both the flashlight and the skeleton keys.
  • 11 of 23: Those three items trigger another situation in the game -- look around elsewhere for anything that has changed.
  • 12 of 23: In particular, go back downstairs.
  • 13 of 23: There should be something different in the hotel lobby.
  • 14 of 23: The desk clerk will no longer be there.
  • 15 of 23: It will now be possible to go behind the desk.
  • 16 of 23: There isn't much to do there, but there is something to see.
  • 17 of 23: Look at the hotel registry.
  • 18 of 23: This is another trigger in the game -- once again, take a moment to look for something that has changed.
  • 19 of 23: Notice something nearby?
  • 20 of 23: Look just outside the hotel door.
  • 21 of 23: A car is waiting just outside the door.
  • 22 of 23: The car is actually a taxi cab...
  • 23 of 23: ...which can take you from the hotel area.
