Women's Suffrage

  • Cost: 600 Shields

    Prerequisite: Industrialization

    Effect: Acts as a Police Station in every friendly city. (Decreases unhappiness caused by units away from the city by one per unit.)

    Effects do not expire.

    This Wonder combined with the UN and a good reputation allows you to usually wage war with little problems under a Democracy.  If you make sure that you have control of these two Wonders plus keeping your good reputation, you can hold your rivals at bay while still maintaining a booming economy. Considering that it costs 60 Shields to build a Police Station and 2 Coins to maintain (it adds up if your Civilization is large), it makes a lot of sense to build this Wonder.
