Cleopatra: A Queen's Destiny Hints

How do I get into the Mausoleum?

  • 1 of 13: Let's see what we've got to work with. We've got 1 riddle, 4 holes... well 5 actually if we count the bottom right hole that hasn't got a stopper in it.
  • 2 of 13: It's probably best to start analyzing the riddle.

"I was born at one; at three already a man I was; at five I was aged, past my prime; when nine shall chime the hour, the tomb gates shall open."
  • 3 of 13: It seems it has something to do with time. Do you remember seeing a device on the roof that's used for measuring time?
  • 4 of 13: In ancient times water clocks or "clepsydra" were used to measure time. Maybe we can use Akkad's clepsydra for this riddle.
  • 5 of 13: Let's have a look at the riddle again. It describes 4 times: one, three, five and nine o' clock. Perhaps this is some sort of code we have to enter.
  • 6 of 13: Four holes, four times, that seems to match, doesn't it?
  • 7 of 13: Now we just have to figure out how to enter the code. With the clepsydra we can accurately measure time.
  • 8 of 13: Maybe we can fill the clepsydra somewhere. Have you noticed a fountain somewhere nearby?
  • 9 of 13: The door to the right seems to be what we're looking for.
  • 10 of 13: Now, let's fill it the clepsydra to one hour and pour it in the first hole, and see what happens.
  • 11 of 13: The thingy floats up showing 1 stripe. Now we're getting somewhere.
  • 12 of 13: Now we just have to fill the last three holes to the proper times.
  • 13 of 13: Except when we fill the last hole, the water just runs out through the unplugged hole.
