Conspiracies Hints

How can I figure out the computer's access code?

  • 1 of 18: Look around the office area at all the different types of things that are there.
  • 2 of 18: Some of them are very colorful, aren't they?
  • 3 of 18: In particular, notice the files in the filing cabinet drawers and the beakers and such in the big cabinet.
  • 4 of 18: Perhaps Proky chose a computer access code based on the colors of his liquids or filing system. They'd always be there as a reminder in case he forgot the exact code.
  • 5 of 18: So as to not have a hugely long passcode, he probably just used the first letter of each color. You know, R=Red, Y=Yellow, G=Green, etc.
  • 6 of 18: However, if you translate the files or beakers into codes directly, you'll get stuff like BPRYOG and RBBGYGTP, which won't work.
  • 7 of 18: Because of this confusion, Proky must have recorded the exact sequence used for the computer code somewhere.
  • 8 of 18: Right-click everything in both the office and the main room for clues.
  • 9 of 18: The big Oriental painting hanging on the wall in the main room isn't very colorful, but Nick notes that it's freshly painted.
  • 10 of 18: Or does he mean painted-over?
  • 11 of 18: Perhaps you could find a way to remove some of the fresh paint. If nothing else, you can then take great satisfaction in ruining one piece of this weirdo Oriental-fetish guy's decor.
  • 12 of 18: To remove the paint, you'll need some rubbing alcohol or something similar.
  • 13 of 18: There's a Bottle of Spirits lying around nearby. Get it.
  • 14 of 18: Now you need some sort of rag to apply the spirits with.
  • 15 of 18: The Sleeping Cap you got earlier should be sufficient.
  • 16 of 18: Use the bottle of spirits on the sleeping cap in inventory to create a spirits-soaked rag.
  • 17 of 18: Click the soaked rag on the painting to reveal a five-color code. How crafty!
  • 18 of 18: Using what we deduced about color encoding earlier, the red, green, blue, black, and pink squares translate to the code RGBBP.
