Crime Stories: From the Files of Martin Mystere Hints
I'm stuck! Any general hints?
Here's a couple of general things you might find helpful:
-- Many locations include more than can be seen in one screen. (For example, in Martin's home in Act 1, there's more of the living room if you walk down screen.) Try walking to the edges of the screen to see if there's more to explore.
-- The usual adventure game rules apply: Pick up everything that isn't nailed down (though not everything will be useful). Talk to everyone about everything. Try to combine inventory items. Go everywhere and try to manipulate everything. You can't die in this game, so feel free to explore. Go nuts!
-- Scan the scenery for hotspots that tell you an item can be interacted with. Most of them will be just things to look at, but there are lots of things you can and should take. Because the labels in this game are sometimes a little odd, I'll put quotes around the ones you need to know (e.g., Pick up the "ancient books" to find the map).
-- Martin carries a notebook (once he gets dressed, that is) and Diana carries a diary in which they write down things to be done. If you're not sure what you're supposed to be doing, look at the notebook or the diary in inventory.
-- And, of course, refer to this hint file ... or did you already think of that?
