Crystal Key 2: The Far Realm Hints
How do I find the New Portal?
of 15: Actually, you won't find any more working portals...
of 15: ...you'll have to create one of your own (or, at least, reactivate an old one).
of 15: Do you remember your initial conversation with Bok, in the Nehli tree?
of 15: He commented that the portal surface actually consists of microbes, which naturally live in caves. He also said that portal surfaces must be regularly covered with algae to feed the microbes and keep them alive.
of 15: Perhaps if you had some microbes of your own....
of 15: The next problem is in deciding where to build the portal. You could continue to explore, looking for a place to locate the new portal. But it would be next to impossible to accidentally stumble upon a spot for a portal.
of 15: The better approach would be to decide why you might want a new portal and to use this information to determine a good location for one.
of 15: Since the water at the Desert House is actually some of Merik's Healing Water, perhaps the best place to start looking for a good place to build a portal would be at the Desert House.
of 15: Think about where you can find a surface flat enough to be used as a portal...
of 15: ...specifically, in the area of the pool.
of 15: The pool itself is pretty flat.
of 15: If the water is still running, use the crank on the side of the vertical stone slab to turn off the water.
of 15: From the far side of the pool -- the side closest to the front door of the house -- look towards the pool bottom.
of 15: Click the tumbler of algae and bacteria on the pool bottom to create a new portal.
