Crystal Key 2: The Far Realm Hints
What do I do inside the New Portal?
1 of 13: If you click on the new portal to enter it, you will find that it takes you to the Causeway (one of the locations on the map for the boat). You may even have visited here earlier in your boat (but were unable to climb up onto the Causeway at that time). This time, you are standing on top of the Causeway, well above where the boat would have been.
2 of 13: Walk to the edge of the platform you are standing on, and look down at the edge near the water. You will now be standing roughly over the area where you would be if you had arrived in the boat.
3 of 13: You should see a vine growing -- a vine that was visible from your boat, if you had visited here earlier.
4 of 13: From the lower perspective of your boat, you should have noticed that there seems to be something caught in the vine. Naturally, whatever it is will be crucial to your success in the game! So you'll need to find a way to get it.
5 of 13: But the object is quite a ways down the vine, and you can't climb down. Nor can you obtain it, if you were in the boat.
6 of 13: When the vine grows tall enough, you should be able to get the object that is caught in the vine.
7 of 13: Left to itself, the vine would take a long time to grow. You could do a little "Jack and the Beanstalk", and see if you can get the vine to grow a bit more quickly.
8 of 13: Can you think of a way to make the vine healthier, so it would grow faster?
9 of 13: Perhaps some of the Healing Water would help.
10 of 13: If you could get to the Causeway via the new portal you just created in the pool at the Desert House, then so could the Healing Waters -- which might affect the vine's growing.
11 of 13: You'll have to turn on the water back at the Desert House. To do that, return through the new portal you just created, and use the crank on the water source.
12 of 13: When you return through the portal, you'll find that the vine has grown considerably. Do you recall why you wanted the vine to grow?
13 of 13: Search the vine carefully, and you should find the small machine that was caught in the vine.
