The Crystal Key Hints

I'm locked in a jail cell! Is this supposed to happen?

  • 1 of 10: Yes.  But don't worry -- there is a way to escape IF you have the right tools.
  • 2 of 10: Do you remember where the lock to the door was located?
  • 3 of 10: Look on the wall to the left of the door for an odd-shaped metal plate.  The plate covers the inner workings of the door lock.
  • 4 of 10: Zoom in on the plate.  Remove the metal plate using your Multi-Tool.
  • 5 of 10: Use the torch function of the Multi-Tool to burn off the rivets.
  • 6 of 10: Now that you have exposed the locking mechanism, take a good look at it.
  • 7 of 10: The locking arm moves completely left and right.  When locked, a sturdy metal pin sticks out at the bottom, preventing the arm from moving beyond it.
  • 8 of 10: Remove that metal pin to free up the locking arm using the cutter function of the Multi-Tool.
  • 9 of 10: Once the locking pin has been removed, look for the small hand cursor on the left side of the panel.
  • 10 of 10: Grab it on the left and, while holding down your mouse, yank it all the way to the right as far as it will go.  (Due to graphics problems, this may take several tries.)
