CSI: 3 Dimensions of Murder Hints
How do I analyze the evidence from the demo booth?
of 8: After the first case, most of this stuff will be obvious.
of 8: Check the two guns for fingerprints, if you didn't before.
of 8: Put the two unknown fingerprints (one from the rifle, one from the gun case) into the trace computer and research them. If you don't get a match, try comparing them to known fingerprints.
of 8: Put the two blood swabs in the DNA computer and see if they match.
of 8: The bullet (from the wall) will go in the comparison microscope, but there's no point until you have other bullets to compare it to.
of 8: The guns are a little unusual. The rifle is obviously not the murder weapon, since it only fires paint bullets, so once you get the fingerprint from it you're done with it. As for the other, you'll want to fire it to get a bullet for comparison to the one from the wall. But how?
of 8: To get a bullet from the gun, put it on the assembly table and take it apart -- that is, click on the top part of the muzzle and slide it to the left, then click on the bottom part of the handle and slide it down to remove the magazine. This will automatically lead to a scene of it being test-fired in the Ballistics Lab (where you don't get to go), which puts a bullet in your inventory.
of 8: Put this bullet in the comparison microscope alongside the one from the wall, then rotate one of the bullets until the marks on them line up.
