CSI: 3 Dimensions of Murder Hints

How do I analyze the evidence from Carrie's apartment?

  • 1 of 13: Comparing the blood swabs confirms that they all came from the same person, but that's not helpful until you confirm that it belongs to Carrie.
  • 2 of 13: However, did you notice the blood on the bottom of Michael's shoe?
  • 3 of 13: Use LCV to reveal it, then Swab it and compare it to the others. So he was walking around in it before he called, huh? I wonder if one of the footprints is his?
  • 4 of 13: Compare Michael's shoes to the photo of the footprint by the door to get a match. Now let's see if he left his mark somewhere else in the place.
  • 5 of 13: Use the DNA computer to compare Michael's DNA with the semen from the sofa pillow. Oho! The plot thickens!
  • 6 of 13: Put the plastic shred through the chemical analyzer to find out what it is, and also so you can compare any similar bits of plastic you find.
  • 7 of 13: With the necklace, you need to find out whether it was cut or torn off. Use the comparison microscope for that.
  • 8 of 13: The key will be compared with any other keys you find, but there's something else you can get from it first. Do you see anything odd about it in inventory?
  • 9 of 13: There's something on it. Use the adhesive specimen mount to take a sample, and run the "waxy substance" through the chemical analyze to find out what it is.
  • 10 of 13: Finally, there's the imprint of a former message on the pad of paper. In detective novels they rub a pencil across it, but you don't have one.
  • 11 of 13: Did you know that fingerprint powder is mostly graphite?
  • 12 of 13: Use the fingerprint powder on the pad to reveal the message.
  • 13 of 13: The rest of the evidence -- the footprint by the window, the plastic shreds, the fingerprint on the desk, the pry mark on the desk, the owner of the semen -- will have to wait till later in the game. Just remember to compare every new bit of evidence you get.
