CSI: 3 Dimensions of Murder Hints

How do I analyze the first set of evidence from Lucy's office?

  • 1 of 10: Lucy's DNA has an interesting application. You know how you couldn't put a name to the blood at Carrie's apartment?
  • 2 of 10: Compare the blood from Carrie's apartment to Lucy's DNA. Since sisters share some genes, this will confirm that the blood in the apartment is Carrie's. Now you can compare that confirmed sample to all the other blood samples to confirm that they all belong to Carrie.
  • 3 of 10: You're interested in the letter opener because you think it might have been used as a knife. How can you tell if it was?
  • 4 of 10: Look for blood evidence.
  • 5 of 10: Spray the blade with Luminol to reveal a stain, then swab it. Compare this swab with other known samples to find out whose blood it is.
  • 6 of 10: The torn note isn't much use until it's been reassembled.
  • 7 of 10: Use it on the assembly table to put it back together. You won't be able to read it, but Sara will tell you what it says.
  • 8 of 10: And the speeding ticket could be a forgery. Better talk to Brass to confirm that it's real.
  • 9 of 10: When Lucy gives you her sneakers, first look for blood stains on the soles. You know what to do with stains, right?
  • 10 of 10: Spray them with LCV, then swab. Compare the swab and the shoe print to what you have on file.
