Deus Ex: Human Revolution Hints

Defeat the mercenary leader.

  • 1 of 7: Yelena Fedorova is very fast, has a cloaking device, and can fire off a powerful blast when she's close to you.
  • 2 of 7: Despite all that, she'll be pretty easy to take down if you got the heavy rifle and all the ammo from that side room, and if you have all of the "Dermal Armor" skin augmentations (including "EMP Shielding").
  • 3 of 7: There are four large power generators with the words "POWER GENERATOR" written on them spaced around the circular chamber's walls.
  • 4 of 7: You can shoot out power generators to temporarily electrify the area, which freezes Yelena in place for easy shooting.
  • 5 of 7: If you're playing on a low difficulty level, the zap damage she'll take from you destroying all four generators will almost be enough to finish her off by itself.
  • 6 of 7: Sprint around from generator to generator, shooting them out when Yelena is nearby. Blast her a bit at close range while she's electrified, then sprint on to the next generator. (Just beware the heavy rifle's incredibly long reloading time.)
  • 7 of 7: As an alternative, you could zap her with a stun gun, switch to the heavy rifle and shoot her until she recovers, then repeat. However, that won't do her as much damage as the generators will, and you'll have less time to shoot her with the heavy rifle.
