Deus Ex: Human Revolution Hints

Defeat Jaron Namir.

  • 1 of 7: You'll really be in trouble for this fight if you did the secondary objective in Hengsha that got a new biochip installed in your head. Zhao will use her "kill switch" technology to mess up your HUD and your vision. You'll be able to see fairly well, but you can forget about monitoring your health, using activated augmentations like Typhoon, etc.
  • 2 of 7: Namir can turn himself invisible, much like Fedorova could, but there are no power generators you can shoot out to fry him.
  • 3 of 7: He enjoys using his cloak and his ability to leap over the room's walls to surprise you. It's best to keep running around the room's perimeter to minimize the effects of this (and of his grenades).
  • 4 of 7: As usual with boss fights, you'll be much better off if you have all of the "Dermal Armor" skin augmentations, including "EMP Shielding."
  • 5 of 7: Upgrading the Typhoon augmentation and using it when Namir is near would also be of great benefit. EMP mines and grenades can also help a lot if you have some of those in stock.
  • 6 of 7: If you brought a heavy object with you, turn right when the combat starts and sprint back around to the elevator. Pick your heavy object up, then wait for a chance to throw it at Namir. He'll be very slow in getting back up after the object hits him, giving you time to blast him a couple of times with a shotgun (or whatever) and pick the object back up for another throw.
  • 7 of 7: There's also a takedown trick that you can use to finish off Namir very quickly. As soon as the combat starts, turn left and run over to where you're on the opposite side of the nearby wall as Namir. Watch the top of the wall, and start quickly hitting the "Takedown" key when you see him come over it. If you're fast enough, you'll be able to take him down before he can land and get his anti-takedown defense ready.
