Deus Ex: Human Revolution Hints
How can I get to the elevator with the arm upgrade?
1 of 13: Go to the NE corner of the outdoor area, then look just south of it for a large square hole in the pavement with a ladder on one side.
2 of 13: Either drop down or climb down the ladder, then move along until you come to the start of a long stretch of electrified water.
3 of 13: Looking down the right side of the electrified area, you'll see two blinking prox mines. Detonate them by shooting them or throwing some of the nearby boxes at them. (Note that if you throw the metal box at them, make sure it doesn't land in a spot where you can't pick it up without entering the water.)
4 of 13: Get onto the pipe that's on the right side of the water and move down to where a large movable crate blocks your way.
5 of 13: Hop onto the corner of the power generator that the crate is on, then pick it up and move carefully over to the left end of the large bundle of pipes.
6 of 13: Drop the crate into the water so that it lands between the pipe bundle and the next pipe that you need to get to, then use the crate to get to that pipe without touching the water. (Or at least without touching it enough to die if you don't have the "EMP Shielding" skin augmentation.)
7 of 13: NOTE: If you can't move heavy objects, you can try using various weapons and explosives to knock the large crate out of the way. Or you can throw the small metal crate into the water so that it lands near the large bundle of pipes, then enter the water and quickly jump onto the crate, and from there onto the pipe bundle.
8 of 13: Go to the end of the pipe, then stand up and use a gun to shoot out the mine you can see blinking inside the nearby vent shaft.
9 of 13: Run toward the shaft entrance and quickly jump onto the pipe bundle that's under it, then crouch down and jump into the shaft.
10 of 13: Move along the shaft, shooting out another mine from a safe distance, until you drop into a room with a breaker box near a window.
11 of 13: Optionally use the breaker box to de-electrify the water, then go through the door and down the hallway until you find a side hallway with a ladder in it.
12 of 13: Climb the ladder, then go through the EXIT door and up some stairs to another EXIT door.
13 of 13: Past it, go down the hallway to find the elevator.
