Diablo and Hellfire Hints
Hellfire's Cornerstone
In the first level of the Demon Crypt lies the Cornerstone of the world. If you read the text that you get when you drop an item directly on the Cornerstone, you will get an idea of what is going on here. You can put an object on the Cornerstone, and then, in a totally different game with a different character, come and pick up that object. This is a great way for your high level Sorcerer to give some really nice equipment to a new Warrior.
Even nicer, you can cheat a bit and use the cornerstone to duplicate an object. Here's how.
1. Make sure the Receiver is not in the Demon Crypt. Have them wait in town. Start a new game with the Donor.
2. Walk the Donor onto the Cornerstone. Drop the item to be duplicated onto the Cornerstone. Save the game right there, and don't step off of the Cornerstone. Start a new game with the Receiver.
3. Walk the Receiver into the Cornerstone room, and take the object. Go back to town, and start a new game with the Donor.
4. The Donor can now pick up the duplicated object too. If you want, you can place a second object to repeat this trick.
If you drop a two duplicates of a unique object on the ground in Hellfire, one object will be destroyed. You can still sell it rather than dropping it, though.
