Diablo and Hellfire Hints
The Rogue
The Rogue is complement to the Warrior and the Sorcerer. While the Warrior relies on strength, and the Sorcerer on magic, a Rogue can excel in dexterity. As you go through levels, concentrate on piling up dexterity with some strength to back it up. Strength can go to 55, while dexterity can go up to 250. At that level, you will seldom miss! Magic can go to a respectable 70, and vitality to 85.
A Rogue works best with the bow, which luckily has unlimited ammunition. It is important to get a good bow, preferably a magic one, as early as you can. To do this, build up strength almost as fast as dexterity until you have at least 35 in strength.
Since the bow works at a distance, it is important for a Rogue to see well. Consider retaining items that increase the light in an area. Also, as it is difficult to change to a hand-to-hand weapon quickly, it is a good idea to master the flash spell, or phasing or teleport. This way, if you are being surrounded you can either quickly kill those nearby, or get away magically to attack again from a distance.
The Rogue was the toughest character for me to use. If needed, restart the game to build up your character's statistics to an unbeatable level. Then, it's time to go look for Diablo!
