Diablo and Hellfire Hints
The Black Mushroom
This is one of the most rewarding, and longest, quests. As you are walking around in the caverns, you will find a book that you cannot read. It is called the Fungal Tome. If you find the mushroom patch first, you won't be able to take the Black Mushroom, but you will know the book is to be found somewhere on the same level. Take the book to Adria, and she will tell you to visit Pepin, who will then ask you to fetch him a demon brain. Go back down to the caverns, and kill a demon of any kind. When you do, the brain will conveniently pop out for you. Take the brain to Pepin, who will give you an elixir to take to Adria. Adria will (finally) give the Spectral Elixir to you. Drink it as soon as you get it, and your statistics will all improve. It is like going up about two levels at once!
