The Dig Hints

How do I get power working again?

  • 1 of 15: First of all, you don't want to take out the blue crystal from the panel yet. You'll need it to power the controls in this room.
  • 2 of 15: Look down (there should be a "down" area that you can click on here) and see if you can figure out what you need to do here.
  • 3 of 15: Two of the lights at the base of the room converge up to a point at the top, but a third light doesn't.
  • 4 of 15: That's because a lens has fallen onto the floor.
  • 5 of 15: You need to put the lens back to focus the light to the proper location.
  • 6 of 15: Fortunately, you'll get some help with this.
  • 7 of 15: Play around with the control panels to see if you can figure out how things work.  There's not much logic to the controls here, so a description of the controls follows in the next hint.
  • 8 of 15: The full control panel is used to program the path of a robot.  The left two buttons are used to cancel your program or back up a step.  The other five buttons are used to direct the robot's path.
  • 9 of 15: They're approximately arranged in the direction that the robot will move.
  • 10 of 15: The red button (in the center of the five) is used to make the robot do something, and the other four move the robot in the same direction as their orientation on the panel.  (For example, the purple button moves the robot to your left, as you see it from the game's point of view.)
  • 11 of 15: Then once you have written the program, press the triangular button on the other console, and the robot will run its appointed program.
  • 12 of 15: First, you'll want to pick up the lens.  Then, you should give the robot another program to put the lens back in its proper place.  Read ahead to figure out what programs will work.
  • 13 of 15: To pick up the dropped lens: purple 5 times, yellow twice, and a red.
  • 14 of 15: To return the lens: purple 4 times, blue 4 times, and a red.
  • 15 of 15: Now, the power to the doors should be restored.
