What the Wizard Says

  • The following text contains an exact transcript of the conversation between Dink and the Wizard.  This text is extracted from the original source file, which you probably have if you own v1.06, and is used with permission of RT Soft.

    Before winning:

    Dink: Who, who are you?
Wizard: Me, who are you, someone not a goblin in these parts?!?
Dink: What are you talking about?
Wizard: The war, the goblin war!
Wizard: I must defend this castle, I can't let them take it back.
Dink: The .. the goblin wars, those ended a long long time ago!!
Dink: They haven't fought for over 100 years!
    Wizard: What!?!
    Wizard: Is this true?
    Dink: I'm afraid so ...
Wizard: What ... what of the city of KernSin?
Dink: Ooooo, well, both the city and its castle were destroyed
Dink: during the last part of the war 100 years ago.
Dink: Later it was partly rebuilt and now is the smaller town of KernSin.
Wizard: This, this is so much.  Did we win the war?
    Dink: Yes.
Wizard: I .. I have to go somewhere, think about what has happened.
Wizard: Thank you ... what is your name friend?
    Dink: Dink Smallwood sir.
    Wizard: SMALLWOOD ?!?
Wizard: I thought you were exiled.
    Dink: What??
Wizard: Of course, 100 years ago, he would've had children by now.
Dink: Hey, you wanna tell me what you're talking about?
Wizard: Your family has an interesting lineage.
Wizard: The ancient ones are drawn to you,
Wizard: they can draw and feed upon magic from your family.
Wizard: And if one were to destroy you, they would gain immense power.
Dink: There is some chaos brewing in this land now.
Dink: We don't know who's behind it either.  I was on my way to
Dink: the darklands when I came here, I have to rescue a friend.
Wizard: Be careful Dink, whoever is behind this is probably an ancient,
Wizard: making it all seem to be someone else.
Wizard: I must go, beware Dink, and good luck.

    After winning:

    Wizard: Good job on winning.
    Wizard: Bye.
