  • 2 of 8: The poem here reads, "Messenger god of trade and exchange / My size relies on the brightest star's range."
  • 3 of 8: The Greek god who delivered messages was Hermes, and he was also the god of commerce (trade and exchange). The Romans adopted him and changed his name to --
  • 4 of 8: -- Mercury. The element mercury is used in thermometers because it expands and contracts (changes size) when the temperature changes -- like in the winter, when the sun, the "brightest star," is farther away from your spot on the planet. Perfect!
  • 5 of 8: So where do we go to find some mercury? Look for a thermometer.
  • 6 of 8: There's one outside the hotel, on the right door frame. Smash it with your hammer to get at the good stuff inside.
  • 7 of 8: Now you just need something to put it in. Something glass, because mercury is poisonous stuff.
  • 8 of 8: Use the glass vial from the hidden object scene in the tent to collect the mercury.
